Cardiac failure

When we are born , we have a heart beat of 90- 160 per minute, which is higher than an adults as it takes longer for the blood to travel through the body and back to the heart where it needs to be pumped again. A newborn's blood doesn't have to travel as far, and reaches the heart quicker.

Your heart is a marvelously constructed pump that forces blood to all parts of your body. The heart is such a delicate organ that deserves to be well looked after. Yet you find people who don’t look after it well, when all that is required from us is that we eat well, by this I mean avoiding to many fats that contribute to heart disease. We need to have a healthy diet and regular exercise which are all good for the heart.

I do try to eat as healthy as possible by buying products that are available in lean variants as well as in low fat. Let me be honest though, when it comes to exercising the only excersing I do is when I walk from the parade in town to tech in the morning and when I walk home. On average I walk for about an hour each week, which I believe is not too bad. I could do with a bit more exercising though.

You are young and smart, now let me not hear that you have experienced cardiac failure any time soon. If that should happen; let it be after you are at least in your eighties.

Blogs lack text appeal?

An article I recently read mentioned how the amount of bloggers have dropped over the past few years due to the spread of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Many people no longer take the time to sit down and write on their blogs as much as they used to, they prefer going on social networks and update their status in a few words , which usually take less than a minute to do.

Young people have become to lazy to post up blogs and have regular entries. They prefer using social networks to communicate and let the rest of the world know what they have been up to.

Have blogs become a tool for the more mature? A new study has found that young people are loosing interest in long –form blogging as their way of communicating has become very brief. Blogging is becoming less attractive, even though it is still seen as useful by many.

Social networking has allowed the ability to do a quick status update. These status up dates take a few seconds to complete and not that much thought has to be really put in when one does them .You find that many young people access the Internet via their cell phones and there for they don’t put much effort in what they write.

Some young people even use pictures on social networks in order to tell their stories with barely using any words. People don’t want to read paragraphs and paragraph of information; they want to read something that is brief and straight to the point. People just don’t express themselves as much as they used to.

What night life?

What are the benefits of having a night life , I ask myself. Yes you do get to have fun where ever the night may take you, you dress up, socialise and meet new people but getting up the next day becomes such a hassle. As you feel like your body has disowned you and feel like sleeping the whole day. Well that's not possible with my mom around, she is usually the first person to wake me up and tell me that I have to do my chores.

I finally get up and I ask myself why do I torture my body by not sleeping on Saturday nights? I do this fully knowing that Sunday is usually the day I have to complete my tech work and do everything else I have to do. This has become a habit of late and I have to put an end to it.

That's why I have decide that I will no longer have a night life for the next nine months or so as I feel that I am not coping at all. I need to give my body a rest.
How do other people cope with their school work when they go out every weekend? This nightlife thing is not for me, I will have to give it a miss for now.

VDAY

What is the whole fuss about valentines day? Every one who is in a relationship expects to be spoilt by their significant other on this day. May it be by receiving expensive gifts, be taken on a romantic holiday, having a candle light dinner for two or breakfast in bed. It all depends on how creative one can be. Why should one wait until this day in order for this to happen ? One can celebrate vday every day if they want to. I think that vday is just a money making day for businesses all across the world, who ever came up with it must have been really creative. I can't believe that vday is the second biggest day people buy greeting cards for loved one, the biggest being Christmas.

What happens if you don't celebrate this day? I guess nothing...
So then why should I celebrate this day? February 14 is usually just an ordinary day for me. I choose to celebrate love when ever I feel the need to. I don't need to follow what ever one else does.

A journey

Can you believe that on new years eve i was at home with my friends doing absolutely nothing, as in the early hours of the 1st of January we would be driving to Port Elizabeth. I was devastate when i realised that we wouldn't be doing anything on new years eve as i knew that everybody else would be going out and having fun some where. One party I knew about was the Miller party taking place at the gorgeous Protea Fire and Ice hotel. I knew that we would be missing out on so much fun. We were awake when the clock hit 00h00 and we welcomed 2010 in doors. Next thing i knew it was 04h00 and time for us to get ready, and so it was time for us to commence on our journey to Port Elizabeth with my two girlfriends.

We had to make sure that we stayed awake on the road , so on our first stop we had to stock up on Red Bull and some food as we hadn't eaten since the night before.

The trip seemed so long, we were singing a long to our favourite albums in order to keep our selves intertained, sharing our thoughts and creating memories. I can't beleive the number of albums we listened to. Finally we arrived arrived in PE at about 12h30 which wasn't too bad, as it took us just over 7hrs for us to get there. We were exhausted, as we hadn't slept for hours. I simply can't wait to have another road trip with my girl friends.
Durban, here we come!

Designer PR?

A designer is a person who designs or creates something. Designer usually refers to being creative in a particular area of expertise. Lets look at how PR has evolved over the past few years. Social media such as Twitter,Facebook, YouTube have brought a whole new meaning to communicating. Organisations can communicate with their customers on a regular basis plus they are able to obtain feed-back from their customers on social networks at any point in time.

Now it is up to the PR Practitioners of an organisation to utilise these networks to their best ability. One needs to be creative in the way they utilise these social networks, may it be to publicise the events of the organisation, to introduce its new products or campaigns or any thing else.

PR has become so innovative, there are plenty of ways to communicate to your target audience, one needs to be creative about it and not only limit themselves to known methods. One needs to be willing to take risks and try new ways of getting their message heard. PR is what you choose to make it...and you can design it to be what ever way you want as long as your point is made clear, there will always be some one willing to listen.

"Is polygamy a feminist issue"?

Yes i agree with the statement that polygamy is a feminist issue. We live in a time where woman should be viewed as equals to men. Women are in job positions that were only thought to be for men, but society has allowed for those mind sets to be changed. It is no longer thought that a woman's place is only in the kitchen you find female managers, female train and bus drivers in various companies in many countries.

So why is it possible for only men to have multiple wives and not possible for women to have multiple husbands. Why should women be subjected to being treated as a collection or means of identifying a man's status? I have never heard of a woman who has multiple husbands. Why is this the case? Don't tell me that men are providers of the household, women can also be providers.

As a society we need to break away from this thought of mind , women should be valued and appreciated and be treated equally to men in all situations.
