When I am walking I may feel something blowing against me, but I may not be able to see it. I know it’s something that is called the wind. Wind is moving air therefore it is not visible as it is color less, though we know it does exist as we feel it when it blows us away or when it blows away pieces of paper or we see the leaves of trees moving.
Cape Town’s wind can be very strong, I remember one time it was up to 60km an hour. It was so hard to walk in the streets; one had to hold on to street light poles in order to ensure that they wouldn’t be blown away by the powerful wind.
We may despise the wind as it messes up our hair and makes us feel so uncomfortable when it blows up sand on to our faces. The wind though has a purpose which is to clean up the streets of Cape Town. It’s the “Cape Doctor "to the rescue… well it seems to do more harm than good.
If the wind was to have a colour it would possibly be an orange to a yellowish colour, as it is hardly ever calm and collected. It tends to be rough and annoying at times, especially from the months of September right up to the end of November.
