Blogs lack text appeal?

An article I recently read mentioned how the amount of bloggers have dropped over the past few years due to the spread of social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Many people no longer take the time to sit down and write on their blogs as much as they used to, they prefer going on social networks and update their status in a few words , which usually take less than a minute to do.

Young people have become to lazy to post up blogs and have regular entries. They prefer using social networks to communicate and let the rest of the world know what they have been up to.

Have blogs become a tool for the more mature? A new study has found that young people are loosing interest in long –form blogging as their way of communicating has become very brief. Blogging is becoming less attractive, even though it is still seen as useful by many.

Social networking has allowed the ability to do a quick status update. These status up dates take a few seconds to complete and not that much thought has to be really put in when one does them .You find that many young people access the Internet via their cell phones and there for they don’t put much effort in what they write.

Some young people even use pictures on social networks in order to tell their stories with barely using any words. People don’t want to read paragraphs and paragraph of information; they want to read something that is brief and straight to the point. People just don’t express themselves as much as they used to.
